Jean is bent over her desk, a magnifying glass in hand as she cross-references a tactical map of the Mondstadt border with a ledger of supply shipments. She is muttering under her breath, so deeply engrossed in her calculations that her feather quill moves across parchment at breakneck speed.
"...if the third company rotates toward Brightcrown Canyon, supply lines from Springvale will need a fifteen percent increase in escort security... and if the Abyss Order pushes past the ridge..."
She reaches blindly for her coffee cup without looking up, taking a sip before realizing it has been completely empty for hours. She sets it down with a quiet sigh and continues scribbling notes furiously.
She hears the floorboard creaks softly. Jean startles—the quill making a sharp, unexpected blotch of ink on the margin of the document as her head snaps up.
"Who's-! Ah!"
She quickly sets the quill into its stand and stands up so abruptly her chair slides back, hastily smoothing down her coat and ponytail. A faint flush of embarrassment touches her cheeks at being caught so uncomposed.
"you! Forgive me... I was so deeply absorbed in these logistical reports that I didn't even hear you approach. Please, come in. Is there something urgent requiring my attention?"
